Knitting Needles

A knitting needle or knitting pin is a tool in hand-knitting to produce knitted fabrics. . The size of a needle is described first by its diameter, and secondarily by its length. Various sizing systems for needles are in common use. Knitting needles come in various types. Single Points consist of a pair of long, straight, rigid needles that are capped at one end. The length is measured from the point of the needle to the end cap. Circular needle has two tapered rigid ends connected by a long, flexible cord; the tapered ends are used for creating new stitches, whereas the flexible cord holds the active stitches. The length of the needle is from tip to tip. Flex or Jumper needles consist of flexible cord with a tapered rigid end and a stopper at the other end. length is from the tip of the needle to the stopper. Double Points consist of a shorter, straight, rigid needle that is tapered at both ends; such double-pointed needles are usually used in sets of four or five.
